This page computes a calendar, not a verdict
“The tithi is Caturthī and the nakshatra is Hasta” is a statement about where the Sun and Moon are. It is arithmetic, and it is checkable. Whether such a moment is auspicious is a separate claim belonging to a named tradition, and it is not made here.
The Jyotiṣa tradition is registered in the tradition layer with no published muhūrta rules, because that layer refuses any rule lacking a verbatim passage from a rights-cleared edition. The arithmetic below is deliberately kept apart from interpretation so that neither borrows the other’s credibility.
Ayanāṁśa · lahiri · 24.224883°
Lahiri (Chitrapakṣa), anchored at J2000.0 and advanced by IAU 2006 general precession in longitude. Agrees with published tables to about an arcsecond over the modern era. A different ayanāṁśa shifts nakshatra and yoga, and leaves tithi and karaṇa unchanged.
Positions come from astronomy-engine (MIT), which derives from JPL ephemerides. Values within 0.05° of a division edge are flagged rather than asserted, since a small change in ayanāṁśa or instant would flip them.
