Evaluate access to the whole assistance workflow
Accessibility includes starting, understanding, pausing and recovering a task—not merely reaching an object. Evaluate the interface and workflow with the people for whom the assistance is intended.
Evidence and interpretation
Maha proposes a robotics-specific evaluation worksheet, not an accessibility certification. The AI risk framework’s broad attention to individuals motivates the question but does not supply the criteria below. Record assumptions about hearing, vision, speech, movement and attention rather than treating a single interaction style as universal. A voice-only initiation method and a visually signalled failure may exclude different people. Describe which alternatives were actually assessed and which remain design intentions.
Proposed evidence workflow
- List each interaction needed to initiate, monitor, decline and end assistance.
- Document interface alternatives and participant-defined success criteria without collecting unnecessary personal details.
- Report barriers and untested user groups separately from mechanical task success.
Worked illustration
A hypothetical transfer can be requested by speech but not cancelled without touching a distant screen. The object movement may pass its task test while the cancellation workflow remains unsuitable for the intended user. Both findings belong in the report.
