Reader FAQ
Before you read The Orbital Mind
What is The Orbital Mind about?
Attention and desire, agency and structure, imagination and grief: the forces of a life do not always cooperate. The Orbital Mind asks how their recurring conflicts can become the conditions for a new capacity.
Who is the book written for?
For readers of psychology, philosophy and systems thinking who want a richer map of the self than a personality label, with room for contradiction and change.
What will I find in the complete book?
The solar system supplies a symbolic language for thinking about these relationships. Across five parts, the book explores the conditions of coherence, the functions of a living self, openness and transformation, and the collisions of ordinary life. Reflective practices accompany the argument. The final part makes a further move: a formal model, a cross-scale conjecture and predictions offered for testing. Readers can follow the practical inquiry while judging that proposal on its own terms.
How should I judge the evidence and wider argument?
Planetary imagery is a language for reflection, not evidence of planetary influence or destiny. Empirical support, interpretation, analogy and conjecture are distinguished. This is not diagnosis or therapy.
Can I read something before purchasing?
Yes. The introduction, this reader FAQ and “What is executive function?” are free. The complete book is available through the purchase options on its book page.
